As a founding partner of Precht Law Firm, Aaron has gained a great deal of criminal law and courtroom experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Iberia Parish. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Aaron handled violent and nonviolent felonies, sex crimes, misdemeanors, juvenile delinquency, Child in Need of Care (CINC), and child support cases. He has successfully argued motions, negotiated plea deals, and tried jury and judge trials that range from major violent felonies to non—violent felonies and misdemeanors.
Aaron’s background as a prosecutor gives him a considerable advantage and a unique perspective into what the prosecution will likely do in your case. This allows him to better advise you on the strengths and weaknesses of your case, whether it is in your best interest to go to trial or negotiate a favorable plea deal or find an alternative solution. Aaron finds client communication paramount in his work and believes that communication, collaboration, preparation, and experience are the foundations to a successful resolution in any given case.
Prior to becoming an Assistant District Attorney, Aaron received his law degree from Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. While in law school, he was chosen to be a member of the Tulane Moot Court trial team where he competed in trial competitions against other law schools. Not only did he find success in these trial competitions, but also honed his skills and discovered his passion for courtroom advocacy. During his last year of law school, Aaron was also selected to participate in the Tulane Criminal Justice Clinic where he represented real people in real cases in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court as an attorney.
Aaron was born and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana, and graduated from the Episcopal School of Acadiana (ESA). He then earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a distinction in Leadership Studies from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama, where he met his beautiful wife Alexis Gilmore Brown. When Aaron is not working on behalf of his clients, he enjoys serving on the Board of Directors for his elementary school, exercising and staying active, traveling, spending time with family, and watching sports.
